DBT GROUPS
COVID-19 Update
We WILL have In-Person as well as Virtual (online) social skills groups FALL 2020. Most groups begin August 3, 2020 with open enrollment adding appropriate group members throughout the school year. For the month of August, all group members will be required to wear face coverings/masks in the common areas of the office (hallways and waiting room) as well as in the group rooms. Our groups are limited to 45-minutes to allow for disinfecting and sanitizing between groups.
Our weekly groups combine Expressive Art and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, focusing on:
Mindfulness: being present in the moment
Interpersonal Skills: making & keeping relationships
Emotional Regulation: understanding and managing emotions
Distress Tolerance: coping with stressful situations
Middle Path: helping adolescents and parents work together
Open-Mindedness: considering alternative solutions
