We truly enjoy working with children and families, which shows in our interactions. At Art It Out Therapy Center, it is our goal to help all families be happy families! We believe that by addressing social and coping skill issues and interpersonal challenges early, techniques and strategies can be learned and mastered in a safe environment which will allow your child and your family to thrive.
We are different than other therapy centers in that we specialize in using creative, engaging ways to help children learn coping strategies. We do use talk therapy but we also use other modalities, such as art. Our therapists are creative, energetic, and engaging. During both individual therapy sessions and groups, children engage in art activities and therapeutic games which allow them to integrate and practice coping skills, strategies, and techniques that they can use in other areas of their lives. The activities also help children to express feelings, implement new skills, and put into practice the skills they work on in therapy. We believe it is important to have fun as you acquire new skills.

We offer individual and group therapy for teens. Being a teen is difficult in today’s world. Academic and social pressures are increasingly difficult and social media makes it even harder. We help many teens who just need someone to talk to, someone on their side. We also have experience with teens with anxiety, depression, ADHD, social struggles, academic struggles, OCD, bipolar disorder, low self-esteem, eating disorders, grief, difficulty adjusting to a transition or life change, and those who self-harm (or cut). We understand that you may feel lost at times, and we are here to help. Our goal is to empower you be the best that you can be and help you figure out how to define your core values and act in a way that is congruent with those values. We hope to enrich your life with coping skills, helpful ways to express yourself, ways to manage anxiety and stress, communication skills, strategies to improve your mood, and strategies to improve peer and family relationships.

Art is a wonderful way to express yourself, show others how you feel, and can provide a helpful way to look at struggles and your own views. In addition, research shows coloring and painting can provide a sense of calm and can decrease feelings of stress. You do not have to be an expert artist to benefit from this type of therapy.

We offer individual therapy, family therapy, groups for young adults in college, and parenting strategies (both in group as well as one-on-one).
Adulthood often brings the expectation of stability, meaningful relationships, security, and independence. We can offer guidance and insight to help you evaluate what is most meaningful to you, what is causing the most stress, and what is standing in your way. We can also help you determine your strengths and develop these into effective coping strategies. Maybe you don’t know what’s wrong but you just don’t feel like yourself, or you just want to be a better you, or life isn’t what you thought it would be at this point in your life. We can help you sort that out and begin a path toward the life you want.
