Silvana is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). Silvana obtained her Master of Education with a Major in Professional Counseling from the University of West Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a culturally competent counselor with extensive experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Silvana is a bilingual native Spanish speaker from Argentina who works with clients with different levels of English proficiency. Silvana believes that language has the power to transport the speaker to a different place and clients use language-switching or code-switching to express certain emotions and recall painful memories. 

 

Silvana’s theoretical approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Expressive Therapy which includes music and movement. Silvana has experience working with children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth, life transitions, anger, grief/loss, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and interpersonal skills. Silvana especially enjoys helping clients overcome obstacles and build the life they desire by helping them learn about their personal values and creating SMART goals and objectives that align with those values. Silvana’s clinical experience includes working with individuals in individual and group settings supporting their academic, career, and social-emotional needs. Silvana is also passionate about supporting parents.
