Teresa Woodruff

OWNER

Teresa is the founder and owner of Art It Out Therapy Centers. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Board Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). Teresa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from the University of Georgia and her Master’s in Counseling & Art Therapy from the University of Louisville. With extensive experience in working with children and families, she launched Art It Out in 2009 to provide a space where individuals of all ages could use creativity to enhance their social and emotional well-being.

Teresa is deeply passionate about the transformative power of art as a means of self-expression, a way to communicate difficult or complex emotions, a method for gaining insight into hidden thoughts and feelings, and a tool that provides a concrete reminder of coping strategies. She mentors other therapists in integrating art-based techniques with psychotherapy to help clients improve self-esteem, manage anger, reduce anxiety, navigate life transitions, process grief, and strengthen communication skills. Teresa has worked extensively with clients facing challenges such as low self-esteem, anxiety, adjustment to parental divorce, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, developmental disorders, and chronic or acute medical conditions.

Active in the Atlanta therapy community, Teresa has also served on the board of Kate’s Club, a non-profit organization supporting grieving children and families. While Teresa is currently not accepting new clients, she oversees and trains other clinicians at Art It Out.

Chelsea Harris

DIRECTOR

Chelsea is the Director of Art It Out Therapy Center’s Atlanta and upcoming North Druid Hills offices. As a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, she brings a wealth of experience and passion to her work. Chelsea holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a Master’s in Art Therapy from Florida State University.

From a young age, Chelsea recognized the power of art as a way to heal and communicate. She grew up witnessing the impact of art-based programs in a homeless shelter run by her father, which sparked her lifelong commitment to using art to help others. Over the years, she’s supported individuals with a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, learning differences, grief, life transitions, parenting support, and family dynamics.

Chelsea has a strong background in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and a variety of learning differences. She previously served as the Coordinator of the preschool program at Early Emory, the Emory Autism Center’s lab school, where she developed the Social and Adaptive Learning through Visual Expression (SALVE) program. This innovative, art-based program supports adults on the autism spectrum in using visual arts to express themselves and connect with others. The program received funding from a grant by Autism Speaks, reflecting Chelsea’s dedication to making a difference in the autism community.

Throughout her career, Chelsea has contributed to several research studies exploring the benefits of art therapy for individuals with ASD, including her article “Discovering Good Practice for Art Therapy with Children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder,” published in The Arts in Psychotherapy.

Now, as the Director, Chelsea leads both the Atlanta and North Druid Hills teams, overseeing the delivery of individual and group therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families. She plays an active role in supporting her teams to provide services that address a variety of needs, including emotional regulation, coping strategies, anxiety management, social skills, and parenting support. Chelsea is deeply committed to the local community and to supporting mental health through accessible and compassionate care, ensuring that every person who walks through Art It Out’s doors feels heard, supported, and empowered.

Alexandra Turnage

THERAPIST
Alexandra is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS).  She obtained her Masters of Education in Community Counseling from the University of Georgia in 2014 and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Clemson University in 2012.

 

Alexandra has 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Alexandra is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Alexandra has also been trained in Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents (TGCTA). The majority of Alexandra’s experience has been working with high risk youth and adolescents. Alexandra has experience working with crisis behaviors, suicidality, self-harm, depression, mood dysregulation, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity, oppositional defiant disorder, and anxiety. Alexandra truly believes that familial involvement in therapy is key to producing change with children and adolescents. Alexandra will often incorporate family sessions into treatment for that reason. Alexandra also believes in approaching therapy from a strength-based perspective in order to help children, adolescents, and families identify their strengths in order to utilize them to create positive changes in their lives.  

Alana-Maria Kirby

THERAPIST

Alana-Maria is a counselor pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Truett McConnell University. Alana-Maria completed her internship and volunteer work at Art It Out, where she gained extensive experience working with adolescents and teens in both individual and group therapy settings.

Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, life/ family transitions, self-esteem, coping skills, and supporting clients with ASD as they build emotional awareness and life skills. She works from a person-centered and strength-based approach, combining creative and holistic methods to meet clients where they are. She believes that healing begins through support, self-discovery, and recognizing the unique qualities that already exist within each person.

In her sessions, Alana-Maria integrates talk therapy with creative and reflective interventions to promote insight, self-expression, and emotional regulation. She draws from Person-Centered Therapy and Strength-Based Therapy while incorporating mindfulness and art-based practices to create a space that is collaborative, compassionate, and growth-oriented.

Alana-Maria’s decision to pursue counseling was shaped by her experience in seeing the impact of compassionate support and community. She is passionate about guiding clients toward greater self-understanding, confidence, and empowerment. She finds deep fulfillment in helping individuals develop effective coping strategies, strengthen communication, and foster resilience for navigating the complexities of life.

She views each individual as a uniquely created being with a rich array of abilities, inner resources, and potential. Her goal is to help clients recognize and nurture those qualities through a warm, hopeful, and collaborative therapeutic process.

​Alexis Basik

THERAPIST
 

Alexis is a Master of Clinical Social Work (MSW) therapist and is actively pursuing her licensure (LCSW). She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work and her MSW degree from Florida State University.

 

Alexis has over seven years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. In 2019, Alexis became a certified Trust-Based Relational Intervention® Practitioner (TBRI®) through Texas Christian University. She has been certified in Child-Centered Play Therapy with Neurorelational Emphasis (CCPT-NE) through the Playstrong Institute, certified in Child Welfare Practice through Florida State University, and is finishing her certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

 

Alexis has experience working in the dependency system in a position with the Special Needs Adoption Unit. She has worked at a group home in Bolivia with children aged 5-23 years and was responsible for the training, implementation, and daily intervention of the home’s trauma care program. Alexis has also worked in a private practice setting, providing outpatient counseling services to women, families, parents, adolescents, and children. Her areas of expertise are Trauma, Foster Care/Adoption, Attachment and Bonding, Child Abuse/Neglect, Depression, Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, Anger and Aggression, and Family Conflicts.

Alexis specializes in coping methods, de-escalations, identifying stress triggers, and working with children and their support systems in both the prevention and the processing of trauma or stress. She is dedicated to educating others on how trauma/stress impacts the brain, development, and attachment. Alexis is passionate about creating and implementing trauma-informed interventions to assist individuals in growing, learning new skills, and meeting the goals they create for themselves. Alexis combines Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Art, Child-Centered Play (CCPT-NE), and TBRI® therapeutic interventions to work with her clients.

Alexis is currently under the supervision of Chelsea Harris MS, ATR-BC, LPC, CPCS.

Becca Gold

THERAPIST

Becca is currently in her last semester of her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Agnes Scott College. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from King University in Bristol, Tennessee, along with an MBA in Healthcare Management. Since completing her studies, Becca has been working at an eating disorder treatment center in Atlanta, where she facilitates CBT and DBT groups for children, adolescents, and adults.

Becca adopts a strengths-based approach with her clients, creating a safe and compassionate space that promotes growth and healing. Her clinical areas of interest include depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and ASD. Operating from an Existential-Humanistic framework, Becca incorporates DBT, CBT, and IFS interventions to best support her clients.

Becca works with children, adolescents, and adults who present with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief or loss, attention struggles, social skill struggles, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Danielle Friedman

THERAPIST
Danielle is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) that draws upon a comprehensive background in psychology and counseling. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Kennesaw State University and a master’s degree in psychology with a focus on professional counseling from the University of West Georgia.
 

Her approach to therapy is multimodal, drawing from various psychotherapeutic theories and expressive arts to support children, adolescents, teens, and adults in their journey towards integration and connection. As a nationally Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) with specialized training in trauma-informed expressive arts therapy (EXAT), Danielle is equipped to work sensitively with individuals who have experienced trauma and significant stress. She focuses on fostering healing and secure attachment through creativity and co-regulation, helping people reconnect with their inner selves and build a sense of safety and trust. 

She is also passionate about supporting clients through life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration with a particular emphasis on cultivating resilience. As part of her practice, she facilitates process-oriented groups that nurture meaningful social connections and explore themes surrounding emotional awareness, emotional expression, self-advocacy, self-esteem, and resilience. Her goal is to create a therapeutic relationship that is compassionate, empathetically attuned, and empowering. By incorporating playful, cooperative, and communicative elements of art and play, she ushers in a creative and unique process that promotes self-understanding, growth, and connection.

Danielle promotes holistic well-being and authentic self-expression in her therapy sessions. She integrates mindfulness and body-centered practices into her approach, encouraging clients to actively engage in embodied, present-moment awareness. This engagement nurtures self-awareness, the quality of relationships, and supports meaningful change.

In her personal time, Danielle finds purpose in nurturing her own mind, body, and spirit through continuing education, deepening her yoga practice, and connecting with nature. She enjoys music, exploring different cultures and foods, all things fantasy and sci-fi, and cherishes her close friendships.

Emma Burgin

THERAPIST

Emma is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR). Her focus is on young children and families, adolescent females and young adults struggling with identity, depressive, and anxiety disorders. Emma specializes in working with clients and families facing moments of transition, when the

messiness of life can become overwhelming and symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, identity crisis, and low self-esteem can emerge. Her therapeutic style combines her training in art therapy and family systems therapy, with a creative, exploratory, supportive, interactive, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach.

Emma’s approach to therapy stems from the belief that every individual is a unique work of art; each with their own story, collection of struggles and way of interacting with the world. Her clinical priority is to collaboratively tailor therapy to highlight this individuality and develop a space where clients feel heard.

 

Therapy sessions with Emma include insight-oriented art interventions and skills-based approaches to support clients with emotional expression and regulation to better manage daily stressors, relationships, and personal obstacles. Emma brings special attention to the importance of relationships, bringing families into the therapeutic process and strengthening therapist-client connection. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment and person-centered humanistic theory and draws from her

training and experience with art therapy and evidence-based psychological theories, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-based practices such as Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). As a trained trauma therapist Emma is aware of how the past can influence present symptoms and creates a therapeutic space for clients to securely explore and

reframe these experiences. 

 

Emma holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Art History from Emory University. As a licensed professional in both California and Georgia, Emma is committed to maintaining a culturally humble and inclusive practice.

 

Emma spends her free time reading, snuggling her calico cat, baking cookies, experimenting with art forms, doing yoga, and playing video games.

Jada Milis

THERAPIST

Jada is a dedicated mental health professional with a deep passion for supporting individuals as they navigate personal growth, healing, and life’s challenges. She earned her Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Georgia and is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) as well as a National Certified Counselor.

Jada also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Georgia Gwinnett College. Throughout her academic journey, she gained valuable experience working with foster children, connecting individuals with community resources, and teaching life-enrichment classes. These experiences continue to shape her commitment to understanding, supporting, and uplifting diverse communities.

In her clinical work, Jada uses an integrative therapeutic approach that blends Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Expressive Arts

Therapy. She emphasizes the individuality of each client and supports them instrengthening all areas of their lives by exploring the eight dimensions of wellness: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual. Jada is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is actively working toward full certification. Through TF-CBT, she helps clients safely process trauma narratives while building essential coping skills such as emotional regulation, relaxation, and mindfulness. Throughout this process, she collaborates with caregivers to enhance communication, reinforce support systems, and promote healing within the family.

Jada specializes in working with children, adolescents, teens, adults, and individuals. Her clinical interests include behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, pre/post-partum challenges, dyslexia, learning disabilities, personal identity development, bi/multicultural identity, life transitions, trauma, grief, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), low self-esteem, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). autonomy, build resilience, and thrive through personalized treatment plans.

Jenna Buthman

THERAPIST
Jenna is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Queen’s University of Charlotte. Jenna has seven years of experience working with children as a preschool teacher and continues to support students in her role as the Associate Preschool Counselor at the Atlanta Speech School. 

 

Jenna has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, grief/loss, divorce, life changes, fear, frustration, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), perfectionism, and executive functioning. Jenna leans towards cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy. She utilizes a strengths-based approach focusing on the individual and their positive abilities. Jenna believes that family involvement is essential for children and adolescents in therapy and encourages familial collaboration. While creating a safe, warm, and positive environment, she provides a controlled space for clients to practice learned skills and techniques. With a history in the theatre, she is outgoing, energetic, and creative. Jenna often utilizes her creativity in the form of art or movement activities.

Laura Lozano

THERAPIST

Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and holds a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) credential. Laura Lozano earned her Master’s of Science in Art Therapy from Florida State University and her Bachelor’s of Science in Visual Arts with a minor in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences along with a certificate in Visual Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida. 

She is a dedicated art therapist specializing in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), experiencing behavioral challenges, low self esteem, life transitions, disruptive thought patterns, anxiety, and depression. She collaborates with parents/guardians through parenting sessions and personalized tools to support the development outside of the 1:1 space as well.

Laura enjoys the harmony between Art Therapy, CBT, and ACT-informed techniques to commit to fostering acceptance and self-compassion. By creating a safe and supportive environment, she prioritizes the creative process to encourage clients to explore their identities and navigate their emotions. Laura supports her clients in building a foundation of self-worth and resilience, empowering them to face adversity with strengthened confidence to sustain emotional well-being.

In her personal time, Laura enjoys traveling (especially back home to Colombia) and being active- running half marathons for fun.

Maddy Seyres

THERAPIST

Maddy obtained her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of West Georgia. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Maddy has a background in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as an ABA Therapist. 

In therapy, Maddy employs an integrative approach, combining Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Expressive Therapy. Maddy is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) certified and incorporates DBT to help clients manage strong emotions, assist children and teens in understanding difficult feelings, and promote mindfulness strategies. Maddy is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is working towards full certification. Through TF-CBT, clients learn to process their trauma narratives in a safe environment while developing coping skills such as emotion regulation, relaxation, and mindfulness. Caregivers are actively involved, learning strategies to support their child, improve communication, and foster healing within the family system.

Maddy specializes in working with children, teens, and adults, ages 3 and up, addressing a wide range of stressors and diagnoses, including anxiety, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavioral challenges, self-esteem, maintaining friendships, life transitions, changes in family structure, trauma, and social skills. She also helps clients reframe negative self-talk and enhance emotional recognition and regulation.

In addition to her work with her clients, Maddy collaborates with parents and school professionals to develop and implement behavior management strategies at home and in school settings. She offers parenting sessions that focus on effective communication, behavior management, and strengthening the parent-child connection. Maddy actively partners with schools to create a seamless support network and provide skills to use in the classroom.

Maddy believes in empowering and validating her clients in their therapeutic journey to achieve their goals. She leverages a child’s interests to engage them in sessions and connect with their therapeutic objectives. In her free time, Maddy enjoys traveling, spending time with her puppy, and indulging in Marvel movies. She’s also a big fan of Harry Potter and Bluey.

Martha Selph

THERAPIST
Martha Selph is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in individual and group settings. She has worked with various issues including depression, anxiety, behavior issues, trauma, and crisis management. Martha’s foundations in her practice are derived from Evidence-Based theoretical models such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Strengths Perspective, Solution Focused (SFT), expressive therapy techniques, and Client-Centered Therapy. 

Prior to Art It Out, Martha gained experience at Live Life Counseling, Hillside Inc., and Summit Ridge Hospital where she provided individual therapy and crisis support for families and individuals in home, school-based, intensive outpatient, and in-patient settings. 

Martha believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and her goal is to help normalize the therapy experience while providing a compassionate and supportive environment. She is passionate about helping people work through life’s challenges and helping them to identify their own strengths and resources so that they may be empowered for future obstacles.

Rachel Blankenship

THERAPIST

Rachel Blankenship earned her Master’s of Science in Art Therapy from Florida State University and her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from East Tennessee State University. After completion of her Master’s in Art Therapy, she was awarded a prestigious Fulbright grant to attend the University of Stirling in Stirling, Scotland where she earned her Master’s of Science in Sport Psychology. During her time at the University of Stirling, her dissertation research focused on the use of art therapy with collegiate athletes. She also collaborated with the Scottish Racing Academy to create resources for national racing athletes to help manage feelings of burnout, develop personalized coping strategies, and strengthen goal setting skills.

Rachel has played soccer since she was two years old. Throughout her athletic career, she played four years at the Division I college level at East Tennessee State University, and one year at the professional level in Skövde, Sweden. These experiences shaped her passion to help athletes at all levels manage high levels of stress and anxiety,  navigate injury and recovery, and build positive social identities both within and outside of sport. Rachel strongly believes that art therapy provides unique benefits to athletic populations who may struggle to verbalize their experiences by providing an outlet for them to identify, share, and process complex emotions.

Rachel specializes in working with adolescents and young adults who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Rachel utilizes a strength-based approach that empowers clients to recognize and build upon their existing strengths to promote personal growth, resilience, and positive change. Rachel holds an Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) license and a Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P) credential.

In her free time, Rachel loves staying active and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys reading and hosts a book club podcast with her sister!

Rowan Walvoord

THERAPIST

Rowan obtained their Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University and their Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia. Rowan approaches counseling from a Narrative theory perspective, empowering clients to rewrite their stories in a way that promotes healing and growth so they can move forward with confidence.  Rowan strives to create a safe counseling space where identities are celebrated, humor is welcomed, and creativity thrives. They often integrate a variety of therapeutic interventions and tailor treatment to the client’s specific interests and needs. 

Rowan enjoys working with children, teenagers, and young adults and has experience helping them navigate identity development, ADHD, ASD, trauma, anxiety, depression, changes in family structure, LGBTQ+ identities, gender expansive identities, and life transitions. Rowan believes that clients have innate strengths that will help them grow, and they hope to create an environment where clients feel safe to explore the more challenging aspects of life. They utilize a trauma-informed approach, recognizing the autonomy of the client and fostering safety. Rowan has received training from the Narrative Therapy Centre in using the Double-Storied approach to addressing trauma in adolescents and young adults. Rowan is under the supervision of Chelsea Harris, MS, ATR-BC, LPC, CPCS. 

When Rowan isn’t in the counseling space, they enjoy hiking, playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, or cuddling with their cats (Basil and Sage). 

Serye Kim

THERAPIST
Serye’s journey into the field of therapy is deeply rooted in her diverse cultural background and her passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges. Born in South Korea and raised in the United States, Serye’s multicultural upbringing has given her a unique perspective on her practice as a therapist. She attended Hendrix College in Arkansas, where she pursued a dual degree in psychology and Spanish, laying the foundation for her understanding of human behavior and communication. Serye continued her education at Agnes Scott College in Georgia, where she earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Serye is currently under the supervision of Chelsea Harris, MS, ATR-BC, LPC, CPCS. Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of challenges, with a particular focus on children and adolescents facing issues such as anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), depression, and emotion regulation difficulties. In her therapeutic practice, Serye adopts an integrative approach, drawing from various modalities including Adlerian therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and expressive therapy utilizing art. She believes in the power of collaboration and works closely with each client to co-create personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and goals. Silvana Ebong

Silvana is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) with a passion for helping individuals achieve their personal goals. She holds a Master of Education in Professional Counseling from the University of West Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Silvana is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and a certified ALERT program provider. 

Silvana is a culturally competent counselor with extensive experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. As a bilingual native Spanish speaker from Argentina, she understands the profound impact language can have on communication. Silvana believes that language has the power to transport individuals to different emotional landscapes, allowing clients to express their feelings and recall painful memories more effectively.

She empowers her clients to embrace their authentic selves while guiding them to align their behaviors with their core values. She is dedicated to teaching clients how to establish healthy boundaries, resolve conflicts, and cultivate inner peace as they navigate relational challenges.

With a passion for supporting both children and adults through life’s complexities, Silvana equips her clients with the tools and strategies needed for meaningful change and personal growth. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of stressors and diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, trauma, behavioral challenges, and socio-emotional skills.

Graduate Interns

Kaytie Eastin, Intern Program Director

Kaytie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who completed her Master of Social Work at Kennesaw State University with a focus in Children and Family Services in 2015.  Kaytie has extensive experience working with children and teens who have experienced traumatic events, have difficulty adjusting to transitions, display defiant behaviors, experience anxiety or depression, and experience challenges regulating their emotions. She believes that families and their environment play an integral part in a child’s life; thus, she strives to improve family communication and relationships of the clients she works with.

Kaytie’s goal is to have the client succeed and thrive in all areas of their lives.  Kaytie utilizes a strengths-based approach, as well as motivational interviewing and mindfulness techniques, to support her clients in learning and utilizing coping skills to help them navigate through challenging transitions and events in their life. She also believes in utilizing creative approaches to interventions with clients to provide individualistic care and practice.

Prior to coming to Art It Out, Kaytie worked in providing therapeutic care coordination to youth who have experienced commercial child sex exploitation as well as for youth in foster care with severe mental health and behavioral challenges.  Kaytie additionally has extensive experience in providing educational wraparound support and advocacy for youth, as well as supporting families and youth with navigating school systems to ensure youth are appropriately supported in their school settings based on their individualized needs.  Kaytie is passionate about working with youth and families and enjoys building a trusting relationship with youth to create a safe space for them to express themselves and progress towards their self-identified goals. 

Cinthya Vazquez

Cinthya is currently completing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Oglethorpe University. After graduation, Cinthya worked as a registered behavior technician at the Marcus Autism Center. She also worked as a preschool teacher, where she supported the social and emotional development of children with diverse needs while collaborating with caregivers to offer holistic family support. These experiences sparked her passion for working with children and families to promote their growth and mental well-being.

As a first-generation student with a Mexican-American background, Cinthya is fluent in both Spanish and English and is particularly passionate about working with the Latino community and other underserved populations to improve access to mental health services. Before pursuing her graduate degree, she provided educational support and resources to low-income Latino students and their families, which deepened her understanding of the need for culturally-sensitive, individualized treatment.

Cinthya is committed to creating a warm, supportive therapeutic environment where clients can be authentic and empowered to make positive changes. She believes that evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, combined with a strong therapeutic relationship, can help facilitate meaningful change. Cinthya’s areas of interest include working with children and teens facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, emotional regulation and executive functioning challenges, and trauma.

Giavanna Gardiner

Giavanna is a dedicated graduate student pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at LaGrange College. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies from the University of West Georgia. Giavanna has several years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician, providing one-on-one ABA therapy to children on the autism spectrum in clinical and school settings.

Her work focuses on helping clients build emotional regulation, communication, and social skills. Giavanna addresses behavioral challenges with empathy and structure. These experiences have strengthened her passion for working with children and adolescents in a supportive and creative therapeutic environment.

Giavanna is particularly interested in clients dealing with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and behavioral struggles. She is also committed to supporting LGBTQ youth and creating inclusive spaces where all clients feel safe, seen, and empowered. Her goal is to promote emotional growth, self-awareness, and resilience through personalized care.

Jasmine Paniagua

Jasmine is completing her Master’s degree in Social Work at Kennesaw State University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Georgia State University. While completing her undergraduate studies, she conducted research in cognitive psychology, focusing on children’s cognition, through the Department of Psychology at GSU. Prior to pursuing graduate school, Jasmine spent time working at Disney in their college program.

As a first-generation Mexican-American and fluent Spanish and English speaker, Jasmine is passionate about serving children of all backgrounds, including the Hispanic community, and addressing the barriers that limit access to mental health services. She is dedicated to developing her clinical and counseling skills while working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Jasmine’s areas of clinical interest include anxiety, ADHD, depression, grief and loss, separation anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and social anxiety.

Jasmine is dedicated to fostering a compassionate and supportive therapeutic environment that encourages clients to engage authentically and feel empowered in their journey toward growth and change. She integrates evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, with the foundation of a strong therapeutic alliance to promote meaningful, lasting progress.

Jeremy Haysman

Jeremy is a musician, creative, and Master of Social Work student at Kennesaw State University, with an anticipated graduation of May 2026. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Marketing from the University of Georgia (Class of 2018) and brings a unique blend of creativity and clinical passion to his work in the mental health field.

Jeremy has experience working with children, teens, young adults, and parents, utilizing trauma-informed care alongside mindfulness-based practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles. He is committed to a strengths-based, individualized approach that emphasizes the use of each client’s creativity, experiences, and abilities to foster therapeutic growth and strengthen relationships.

Jeremy has experience supporting individuals navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavior modification, low self-esteem, confidence, values, and emotional regulation. He is passionate about creating a safe, expressive space where healing can happen through connection, self-awareness, and creativity.

Kylie Cooper

Kylie is currently earning her master’s degree in Social Work from Kennesaw State University. She earned her Bachelor’s of Psychology and minor in Criminology from the same university. While earning her master’s, she has interned at the Marietta City Schools system, working with elementary, middle school, and high school students. She developed skills to help adolescents navigate difficult and challenging times in their lives. During this time she developed a love for working with children and families. She also held a small group where she found interest working in group settings with creative and fun activities. Kylie hopes to earn a specialized certificate in Marriage and Family counseling after graduating from her program. 

With her previous group work, Kylie is passionate about continuing to work with adolescents in groups and to develop more skills in working one-on-one with clients. Her clinical interests include family dynamics, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and social struggles. She loves working with people and looks forward to seeing you at Art It Out!

Megan McGarrity

Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Auburn University, where she had the opportunity to study abroad twice. During an internship in London, England, she gained valuable insights into diverse cultures and mental health services through immersive learning. She led weekly groups and built strong connections with clients. In the spring of 2021, Megan completed a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) course in Baja California, Mexico. She is now completing her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University.

With extensive experience working with children as both a nanny and behavior technician, Megan is passionate about supporting and advocating for adolescents. Megan, herself, is an adoptee and has a personal understanding of the complexities surrounding adoption and family systems.

Her clinical interests include adoption, emotional dysregulation, ADHD, anxiety, social struggles, and depression. Megan utilizes a holistic and mindfulness-based approach and incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps clients define and understand the various different parts of themselves. In sessions, Megan sees value in using tools, such as the Enneagram, to help clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others around them. Megan is dedicated to helping clients navigate their unique journeys toward well-being, offering a compassionate and individualized approach to therapy.

Nomi Butt

Nauman (Nomi) Butt is a counselor-in-training specializing in mental health within the Master’s Program at Agnes Scott College. Before this, he spent over 13 years in the corporate sector, where he honed his skills in conflict resolution, navigating complex situations, and connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Now, he utilizes that experience—and a deep sense of empathy—in his work with children, teenagers, and their families.

Nomi finds his greatest purpose in working with young people. He has a special passion for supporting children and adolescents facing challenges like unresolved trauma, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. He is also deeply committed to helping young clients heal from emotional distress related to bullying and rediscover their inner strengths.

In his counseling work, Nomi blends Adlerian therapy with Internal Family Systems (IFS), focusing on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. He believes that every individual has the ability to create positive change in their life and that his role is to walk alongside them, offering guidance, encouragement, and support as they find their own path to healing. When working with children and teens, Nomi strives to create a warm, safe, and creative space where they can express their concerns freely and feel seen, heard, and valued. He aims to empower his clients to better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Savannah Miller

Savannah is currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Agnes Scott College and received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University. Her passion for psychology and mental health counseling runs deep and is informed by her knowledge of physiological and neurological processes, as well as her interest in integrating art and science.

Savannah has a plethora of experience working with people, serving in the healthcare field, and training in healthcare administration. Her professional goals align with the expansion of equitable mental healthcare and wellness accessibility. Her clinical interests lie in working with children and families struggling with transitions, divorce, grief, social struggles, and trauma. In her work with clients, her focus is to foster a sense of safety, understanding, and compassion so that children and families can reconnect with themselves and their support systems. In doing so she employs a framework from Internal Family Systems theory (IFS) and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Rachel Kim (Atlanta)

Rachel is currently obtaining her Master’s in Social Work at Columbia University. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at Kennesaw State University in 2024, where she strengthened her passion for mental health care. With her experience as a Case Management Intern at Kennesaw State University and as a Program Assistant Intern at Students Without Mothers, she has developed strong communication skills and a deep understanding of diverse life experiences. These roles allowed her to connect with individuals from a variety of cultural and personal backgrounds, equipping her with the empathy, patience, and adaptability essential for building trust with young clients. Her ability to listen attentively, respond with warmth, and tailor her approach to each child’s unique needs makes her especially skilled in creating a safe and supportive space where children can feel heard, understood, and empowered.

 

Rachel strongly believes in the role of therapy in fostering mental wellbeing. She also has a passion for using art in therapy, as she has used art as a form of expression herself. Rachel has a strong interest in helping adolescents reach their goals and helping them create strong relationships with their families, peers, and their own selves. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and body image/eating disorders.

Ry’n Foster (North Druid Hills)

Ry’n is currently completing her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Mercer University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Deaf Education with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Utah State University. Ry’n’s background in clinical communication sciences allowed her to find her passion for helping individuals on a deeper level.

Ry’n is particularly passionate about working with adolescents who are coping with life changes and the individuation process, with areas of focus including anxiety, depression, OCD, body image and eating disorders, grief and loss, family dynamics, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. Ry’n is committed to providing a compassionate and supportive environment for individuals as they work toward healing by using holistic integrated therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and narrative therapy. Ry’n believes in empowering individuals by helping them discover creative outlets that foster healing and growth.
