Melis is currently pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. She received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Mercer University. Throughout her undergraduate career, Melis volunteered at local elementary schools in Macon, Georgia and worked as a counselor at Florida International University's Summer Treatment Program for pre-kindergarten children experiencing emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. Since graduating, Melis has been working as a behavioral technician at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. These experiences have encouraged her to continue pursuing her passion - a career that focuses on the therapeutic growth of children and families. 

 

Melis is passionate about developing a safe, supportive, and creative environment to address any behavioral or emotional challenges while promoting positive change. She believes in utilizing a strengths-based approach and implementing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy. Her therapeutic interests include Attention-Deficit/Hyhperactivity Disorder, behavioral issues, and emotional regulation. Melis hopes to promote healing and growth in a unique, creative setting.
