Nakia was born and raised in Georgia. For undergrad, she attended Jacksonville State University where she earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Upon graduating, Nakia worked in law enforcement at many different capacities for almost eight years. It was through this career that she found an interest in counseling and wanted to offer more to those in need of other resources. 

 

Nakia is currently pursuing my Masters in Clinical Mental Health at the University of West Georgia. Her interests are working with children and adolescents, trauma-focused care and crisis intervention.
