Parenting is an incredibly difficult job, and parenting during the pandemic may feel nearly impossible. If you feel stretched too thin and exhausted, you are in the norm. Here are some tips to make sure you are caring for yourself during this difficult time.
Be sure you are getting enough sleep- for most adults this means 7-9 hours a night (per the National Sleep Foundation).
Arrange a plan for you to have some alone time- even just 15 minutes a few times a day.
Decompress without electronics- read a book, take a bath, listen to calming music, or color an adult coloring book.
Remember to breathe- slow, deep breaths will help your body and mind to remain calm.
Look for the good in the situation- focusing your mind on the positive moments will help you keep a positive mindset.
Give yourself some grace- this is a difficult time, and we are all bound to have struggles and make mistakes.
Remember, this is only temporary.
